Answering some questions, which I thought you may want answering!!
About The Kind Mail Club
1. What is The Kind Mail Club?
The Kind Mail Club is a monthly subscription that brings you a handwritten-style letter in the post – filled with reflections, poetry, prompts that invite you to slow down to reconnect with yourself…and… there is some surprise art (for random 20 people every month). So, to clarify, each envelope carries a story, a reflection prompt, and a short poem – all centred around various ideas, topics that direct us towards the various facets of kindness
2. Why did you start The Kind Mail Club?
I started this because I missed the warmth of receiving letters – the kind that carried thought, time, and genuine care. Living with chronic illnesses, I’ve learned that kindness, hope, and reflection are what carry us through. The Kind Mail Club is my way of sharing that – through stories that comfort, connect, and remind us that we’re not alone.
3. What makes this different from other letter or subscription services?
Each letter is written personally by me, Shruti Chopra, and rooted in my own lived experiences and reflections. The letters are thoughtful – created to feel like receiving a note from a friend rather than a generic subscription. Every piece of writing and art is original and made with intention.
4. What’s included in each month’s envelope?
Each month, you’ll receive:
- A letter with a story and reflection.
- A prompt card to inspire journaling or quiet thought.
- A poem card that captures the theme of the month.
- And a bonus art print for 20 random subscribers – handmade or printed from my original work.
5. Is every letter written by me (Shruti) personally?
Yes. Every story, poem, and reflection prompt is written and designed by me. Each month’s theme grows out of my own reflections, experiences, and a story that has stayed with.
6. What kind of stories do the letters share?
The stories often explore the themes of resilience, reflection, and finding small joys in life’s challenges. They may draw from art, philosophy, daily experiences, or moments of insight that invite you to see life a little differently.
7. Are the letters handwritten or printed?
The letters are printed in a typewriter-style font for that nostalgic touch and each one is stamped with The Kind Mail Club logo in red ink, signed by me for a personal feel.
8. Can I read past letters anywhere online?
Each letter is exclusive to subscribers. The experience of receiving it physically, and reading it slowly, is part of what makes it special. Occasionally, I may share small excerpts on my website or Instagram. If you miss subscribing for any month and wish to receive older letters, then every 6 months, I will open this up.
9. Will every month have a different theme?
Yes! Each month explores a new idea or feeling, such as potential, gratitude, patience, or connection through a story, a reflection, and a poem that weaves together around that theme.
10. How do the reflection prompts work?
Each reflection prompt is designed to help you pause and look inward. You can write your thoughts on the prompt card, in a journal, or simply keep it somewhere visible to revisit over time. There’s no right or wrong way, it’s about gentle discovery. They’re the size of a business card, so it’s easier for you to carry with you through the month – to look at and pause. An anchor that keeps you coming back.
Subscriptions & Delivery
1. How does the monthly subscription work?
Once you subscribe, you’ll receive one envelope every month by post. The subscription automatically renews monthly until you decide to pause or cancel it.
2. What is the cut-off date to receiving the following month’s letter?
The cut off date is the 15th of every month. Any sign ups made after the 15th will be seen as subscriptions for the following month. For example…
If you subscribe between 16th October to 15th November, you will receive the letter for December. Since I am based in India, the postal service can take longer for international mails, and I would like you to be able to receive the letter earlier in the month so that you have the whole month to properly reflect on the prompt. Plus as someone with multiple chronic health issues, I am slower and need more time to get the letters out to you.
3. When will I receive my first letter?
Letters are usually posted in the last week of the prior month, and depending on your location, should reach you within 7–14 days within India (and a bit longer for international mail). So, for example, December letters will be sent out between 25th-30th November.
3. Do you ship internationally?
Yes, The Kind Mail Club ships worldwide! I am using the Indian Postal Service, so arrival times may vary depending on the destination, but I do my best to ensure each letter reaches you in good time.
4. What is the cost of the subscription?
You’ll find current pricing on the subscription page – it covers the letter set and postage.
5. Can I buy just one letter instead of subscribing?
Yes. You can order a single-month letter if you’d like to try it before subscribing. Check out the subscription page that clearly labels that listing (it’s the third one).
6. How can I gift a subscription to someone?
That’s a beautiful idea. Pay as you would on the subscription page, but fill in the receiver’s details. Email me on thekindmailclub@gmail.com letting me know that it is a gift. You can add a short personal note that I’ll include in their first envelope (just mention it in the email).
7. Can I pause or cancel my subscription?
Yes, of course. You can pause or cancel at any time before your next billing cycle. Life happens, and I want this experience to feel kind – not like another task. Your option on PayPal will be to cancel – but if you’re pausing, you’ll need to just start the subscription again. You can email me on thekindmailclub@gmail.com if you have any issues, or are just pausing, because like I said, life happens!
8. What happens if my letter doesn’t arrive?
If your letter hasn’t reached you within a reasonable timeframe, please reach out via email. I’ll happily resend it.
Personalisation & Extras
1. Are the letters personalised with my name?
Yes. Each letter begins with your name, to make it feel like it’s written just for you (because it is!)
2. Can I request a specific theme or topic?
It’s a great idea, and I’m always welcome to suggestions – so do share via email thekindmailclub@gmail.com but I won’t be able to guarantee writing about that topic. But it will allow me to keep my eyes, ears (& heart) open to it – and if I come across something that is relevant to what has been suggested, then I will write about it.
3. What is the bonus art piece mentioned in the subscription?
Every month, I create a small handmade or printed artwork – it could be a mini print, illustration, or something else… that’s included as a bonus for 10 randomly selected subscribers.
4. How are the 20 random art pieces selected each month?
I’ll place it in 20 different envelopes, as randomly as possible. It’s my small way of spreading a little extra surprise and joy.
5. Can I purchase past art or poem cards?
Currently, the art and poem cards are exclusive to subscribers. But every 6 months, I will make a few prints or bundles available of the previous 6 months gone by.
Community & Values
1. Why focus on kindness and reflection?
Because life is challenging enough and I believe slowing down with kindness helps us heal, connect, and grow. Reflection gives our experiences meaning, and kindness reminds us we’re not alone.
2. How does The Kind Mail Club relate to your blog, All Things Endometriosis?
My blog, All Things Endometriosis, shares my personal experiences with chronic illness. The Kind Mail Club is a creative extension of that, focusing less on illness itself and more on living with purpose, joy, and compassion despite life’s challenges.
3. Can I share my reflections or stories with you?
Absolutely! I’d love to hear how the letters and prompts resonate with you. You can share through DM on my Instagram or through email – thekindmailclub@gmail.com. Sometimes, I may feature anonymous snippets (with permission, of course).
4. Will my response ever be featured in future letters?
Possibly, if relevant and with your consent. Occasionally, I may include reader reflections or insights that align with a future theme.
5. How can I support or collaborate with The Kind Mail Club?
If you connect with what I do, the best way to support is by subscribing, gifting a subscription, or sharing the club with friends. I’m open for collaborations – but honestly, it’s such a broad term nowadays, but we can always discuss this. You can email me – thekindmailclub@gmail.com.
Payments & Policies
1. What payment methods do you accept?
For those based in India – I don’t have a payment gateway on-board yet in India, but that will change soon, so for the meantime, I am accepting payments via UPI, for that, you’ll need to DM me on Instagram or email me – thekindmailclub@gmail.com.
For those outside India – I accept payments through PayPal.
2. Is my information kept private?
Yes, absolutely. Your mailing address and details are used only to send your letters and will never be shared or sold.
3. Do you offer refunds or replacements?
Due to the handmade and mailed nature of each piece, refunds aren’t possible once letters are sent. However, if your letter is lost in transit, I’ll gladly send a replacement.
I’ve done my best to answer any possible questions you may have, but if you still have any queries, then please reach out to me via DM on Instagram or through email: thekindmailclub@gmail.com
